Troubleshooting Common Issues

Find quick fixes for common Kidaro issues, including loading delays, session timeouts, microphone access, and voice input.

Most Kidaro issues can be resolved with a quick browser check or by returning to the session later. Use the sections below to find the issue you are seeing.

The Learning Profile Is Taking a Long Time to Load

After the Parent Interview and Child Interview are complete, Kidaro needs time to generate the Learning Profile.

The analysis continues in the background, so you do not need to stay on the screen. If the Learning Profile has not appeared after 30 minutes, refresh the page. If it still does not appear, sign out and sign back in at start.kidaro.app.

The Session Was Interrupted or Timed Out

If the onboarding process is left open for a long time without activity, the session may time out.

To reduce the chance of this happening, complete the full process in one sitting. If the session does time out, return to start.kidaro.app, sign in, and follow the on-screen instructions to continue from where you left off. Your progress will not be lost.

The Browser Is Not Recognizing the Microphone

The Parent Interview and Child Interview use voice input, so your browser needs permission to access the microphone.

In Chrome, select the lock or site settings icon beside the web address, find Microphone, and set it to Allow. Then refresh the page.

In Safari, go to Safari > Settings > Websites > Microphone, find Kidaro, and choose Allow.

Make sure microphone access is enabled for kidaro.app or start.kidaro.app, depending on which page you are using.

Numbers or Short Answers Are Being Cut Off

When giving a short answer, such as a specific number, say the full answer clearly and in one continuous phrase before pausing.

A long pause may be treated as the end of your response, causing Kidaro to move to the next question. If an answer is cut off, you may not be able to return to that question, so speak at a natural, steady pace until the answer is complete.

A Game Ended Unexpectedly During the Child Interview

Some activities in the Child Interview run for a set amount of time and end automatically.

This is normal and does not mean something went wrong. A DONE screen may appear while your child is still playing. They can continue by following the next prompt from the Kidaro guide.
